Description (Adventure Classic Gaming):

A note about the downloads available above:

Features:

Note: Among the actors who appeared in the game were a number of instantly recognizable (by face, if not necessarily by name) character actors as well as a number of well-known younger actors: Robyn Lively of Twin Peaks as "The Fairy", Jason Hervey of The Wonder Years as "The Troll King", and Sam J. Jones from the 1980 film Flash Gordon as "The Blind Bowman" and A.J. Langer of My So-Called Life as fellow Zork explorer Rebecca Snoot whom the player encounters on several occasions.

The Mac version runs at 640x480 with full-motion video for spoken dialogue, trouncing the DOS version's 320x200 and still-frame actors with animated mouths. However, much was sacrificed to make room for those videos, including the CD audio soundtrack (replaced with MIDI files) and most dialogue not essential to completing the game. Fan opinion is divided about which experience is preferable, with MacCentris suggesting that it depends whether you're more of a visual or an auditory person. ("But if you really want to enjoy the true RTZ experience you need to have both.")

About ScummVM: the Mac version is not supported in the latest stable version, at this time version 1.6.0
