This is a CD-ROM version of the original work by Edgar Allan Poe about the murder of an old man which is revealed by the continuing beat of his heart. The program allows the user to develop reading skills at a desired pace. It incorporates the five components of language development: reading, listening, speaking, writing, and viewing. Clicking the mouse on any word or picture element retrieves pronunciations, syllables, second-language translations, or places words in a list. Enhanced by sound effects and music (archive.org)
