Welcome to The Mac Attic, an abandonware software library made for vintage Apple computers and very old/ancient web browsers
The successor to Sargon IV continues to provide the option of playing chess in color or black and white. However, the black and white option tends to look more grey than black and white. (We assure you, that's not due to a lack of effort in creating separate 1-bit sprites, those are the separate 1-bit sprites.) You can choose to view this as an added cognitive challenge or simply get frustrated at game designers who put 'cool' 3D shading effects over readability. This game is in 1.0 version, and you can also find out more about its predecessors, Sargon III and Sargon IV. It requires a minimum system of 6.0.7 or later and a '020 or higher processor to play music. It also needs a 640x480 resolution for 256 colors. It has been found to crash in OS 9.2.2.
