Welcome to The Mac Attic, an abandonware software library made for vintage Apple computers and very old/ancient web browsers
Allacrost Hero is an open-source, single-player, 2D sprite-based RPG, reminiscent of the gaming classics from the 90s. While playing HoA, you inhabit the role of Claudius, a young knight tasked with finding a mythical hero set to rescue the world from impending ruin. Your path will lead you to collaborate with other characters, traverse through towns and dungeons, and combat a variety of adversaries.
You can download version 1.0.0 which includes the game editor. You can also check the old project page via archive.org: https://web.archive.org/web/20110903181743/http://www.allacrost.org/
The game successfully launches and plays on a Mac Mini G4 running 10.5.9 (Sorbet Leopard). However, on Tiger 10.4.11, it exits abruptly on launch due to the libiconv.2.dylib being outdated. If interested, you can fetch the sources and try building it against the Tiger system.
